You’re seated on a roadside bench, and you look up from your newspaper as you hear a smooth swoosh of tire on asphalt. Five seconds ago, it was traffic as usual. But now everything seems to have lost its momentum. Most people on the street are looking down one end of the road, a look of envy and admiration on their faces. The traffic picks up again, but dejectedly. They all feel cheated. They all look at the cars they’re driving with an expression of resignation, as if they felt cheated out of something.
It must have been a Porsche that passed by, you think to yourself. Guess what, it was a Porsche that passed by.
The envy and admiration felt towards a Porsche is almost universal. Mostly because a Porsche can be so out of reach of the ordinary person’s hand.
But if you can’t have the real thing, why not buy a die-cast mini-version? If not for the size, they are both identical!
